Chris Colbert, the undefeated featherweight champion, will take on Tugstsogt “King Tug” Nyambayar, the hard-hitting contender, on Saturday, July 3, 2021. The match was initially scheduled to take place with Yuriorkis Gamboa Toledano, the Cuban professional boxer. But just ten days before the match, Toledano suffered an injury during the training camp, and he backed out. So instead, the fight will take place between Nyambayar, the Mongolian professional boxer, and Colbert. The event will also feature Jon Fernández, the lightweight contender battling Michel Rivera in the co-main event in a 135-pound WBA title eliminator.

The late replacement Nyambayar & champion Chris Colbert are all set to delight their fans in a spectacular face-off. Tugstsogt Nyambayar (who has been looking for a championship ever since he lost to Gary Russell Jr. this February) had replaced Gamboa. Hence, the match was set up between Nyambayar and Colbert (15-0 with six knockouts).

Chris Colbert is a professional American boxer who remains undefeated to date. Colbert has been holding the WBA interim super featherweight title since 2020. Colbert started professional boxing on May 29, 2015, when he won over Marquis Pierce at the Barclays Center in New York City. In the same year, he won three more fights in June, September, & December against Benjamin Burgos, Jose Carmona & Derrick Bivins. In 2016, he had only one fight, which he won over Antonio Dubose.
Later in 2017, Colbert had two victories against Wilfredo Garriga and Titus Williams. In 2018, Colbert defeated Austin Dulay in seventh-round corner retirement (RTD). Tugstsogt Nyambayar is a professional boxer from Mongolia and competes in the featherweight division. He has been in professional boxing for around six years. Nyambayar grabbed the boxing fraternity's attention at 22 when he fought Gabriel Braxton. His last fight was against Cobia Breedy on September 19, 2020— Nyambayar won by split decision (S.D.).
Nyambayar was a famous amateur boxer— he won a silver medal in 2009 at the flyweight World Championships. After that, King Tug had to move to the U.S. because it was pretty hard for him to train in his native country, Mongolia. Nyambayar tasted victory in his first eight bouts by knockout. Tugstsogt Nyambayar: Nyambayar (12-1, 9 KOs) represented his native Mongolia in the 2012 Olympics, and he also won a silver medal. After Nyambayar defeated former interim champion Oscar Escandon and unbeaten Harmonito Dela Torre — he made his mark in the featherweight rankings.
WBC's second-ranked featherweight Nyambayar had said ahead of the July 3 fight against Chris Colbert, “I did not give a second thought about this fight when I got the call; I just jumped into the opportunity.
