The Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor match will see the latter defend each major belt in the super-lightweight division against his rival on February 26 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The match will be very exciting between two Britishers who are still unconquered. Josh Taylor has given an ominous threat to his rival as the tension is building up ahead of the Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor undisputed championship match. Half a year earlier, ESPN had said that the terms of the agreement between the two boxers to meet in December of the previous year had been finalized. But Taylor announced in October that he had obtained an injury. So, the Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor match was postponed to the present date of February. Some details regarding the undercard were announced last month, including a fight between the Irish boxer Eric Donovan and the Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramirez. Top Rank has a new signing to host his debut match for the Irish boxer Kieran Molloy against an unknown rival.

Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor Prediction: Taylor Believes He Has Got the Match

Josh Taylor put on a great display in Las Vegas nearly a year ago to defeat Jose Ramirez and got the WBO and WBC light-welterweight championship belts to his collection. The boxer has won more than seventeen matches with twelve knockouts to his name and will put everything at stake in the Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor match. The boxer was the victor in the World Boxing Super Series by defeating world champ Regis Prograis. After that, he defeated Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas to become the undisputed champion. Josh Taylor has not been involved in any fight since creating history as the first British fighter to unify a division in the new era with the win over Jose Ramirez. The Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor match was originally scheduled for December. Still, the Scottish boxer got a knee injury, gradually recovering. But he is a little frustrated that he has not been able to resume his leg work and running activities because of the injury.

Taylor said, "I like to show respect. But it depends on how they act towards you. It is calm and relaxed - but there is time for the needle to come! And it will come. The closer the fight gets, it will come. He's a good fighter. I've got a lot of respect for Jack. But he will come up short. He will taste his first defeat as a professional. He's a good fighter. He just isn't as good as I am. It is a step up in class because he hasn't boxed at my level. He is a talented fighter, but he hasn't got what it takes to beat me. Everyone thinks it will be a walkover job, except for my team and me. He's a very good fighter, he's been knocking at the door for world level a couple of years now, so it's a tough fight. Saying that I believe, on my night, he doesn't get anywhere near me. Skillswise, my ring IQ and experience against the level of opponents I've been in with gives me the upper hand in all departments.”

“This is the first time I've boxed at home in a couple of years, and it's going to be great. It's Scotland versus England, the Auld Enemy thing. The Hydro is like a cauldron. It creates such a great atmosphere when the fans go crazy. It's an exciting prospect [switching to welterweight]. Still, it's easy for me to keep that at the back of my mind because if it all goes wrong on 26 February, it's not happening. If it goes wrong, it creates a massive speed bump, but I don't believe it will. I've been used to dealing with pressure since the Commonwealth Games. I was the poster boy in 2014, tipped for gold in my own country. I had the hopes of the nation riding on my shoulders, and I've kind of been dealing with big occasions since then. If anything, I thrive on it. It gives me the fear factor, the butterflies I need to keep the fire cooking."

Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor Prediction: Catterall is a Tough Match

Taylor may be the undisputed titleholder in his weight division. But he still says that he will not risk underestimating his rival Catterall when the two go against each other in Scotland. Catterall waited patiently until his upcoming rival recovered from his knee injury to be fit for their match. Taylor has the reputation of not being defeated till now. But his challenger in the Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor match is also undefeated and has won more matches than him. He is also a former WBO Intercontinental and British champion. The match will be a historic one, with this being the first time the belts will be defended in Scotland by an undisputed champ of the modern era. Taylor has been very open to his desire to go up a division against the legendary Terrence Crawford. But all his attention right now is on his latest rival. Catterall will give tough competition to the champ on what will be a very exciting night of boxing. He is relishing the chance to show his abilities to the world.

Catterall said: "I beat Josh by listening to instructions, doing the stuff that we've worked on since the very start of my career. Using everything I've learned over the years and executing it. All the belts are on the line, and these opportunities don't come around often. I have to go in there, soak up the atmosphere, and put in a good performance. Josh is up there with the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. He's got all the belts, but he is the enemy right now, and I want what he has got. I won't just be there to take part. I will be coming up with bad intentions." Catterall's trainer Jamie Moore praised Taylor: "He is a high-octane, exciting fighter. Mistakes that a fighter of his caliber makes are few and far between. But the antidotes to Taylor's style? Jack has them. I remember the switch in Ricky Hatton [before his famous win over Kostya Tszyu], and it reminds me of Jack. He has always been focused, but he has gone up two or three levels."

Jack Catterall vs. Josh Taylor Was Rescheduled Earlier

The world title match between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall was supposed to occur in December last year. But it had to be postponed after the undisputed titleholder Taylor had a knee injury. Taylor had said, "I'm gutted I won't be able to defend my title on December 18 as originally planned, but I wanted to make sure I was 100 percent healthy to give my incredible fans the show they deserve. This homecoming has been a long time in the making, and it will be worth the wait. I will see everyone on February 26." Catterall had said: “Everything happens for a reason! I am gutted not just for me but for everyone who had planned to go. I will remain professional and continue working for the new date. In 2022, I will be the world champion. Obstacles like this are nothing new for me. I will turn the frustration into positive energy."

Top Rank's Bob Arum had said, "It's going to take a couple months longer than expected, but rest assured, Josh Taylor's homecoming will happen February 26, and it will be one of the biggest boxing events ever on Scottish soil."
