But they will know about him soon enough in the Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol match.

Bivol Has Been Waiting for the Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol Match

Dmitry started his training for boxing at the young age of seven. His birthplace is the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan. More than thirty years ago, he was born to a Korean mother and a Moldovan father. He made a move to Russia a decade later. It was in that country where his boxing journey really took off. Yet before moving further into the sport, the future titleholder first tried to dabble at karate. He was inspired to take up martial arts after watching Hollywood legend and childhood idol Jackie Chan. But there were not many credible rivals in the sport. This led him to pursue the sport of boxing professionally. It became apparent pretty quickly that the boxer had come to this sport for some specific reasons. This is because he blazed through the amateur divisions. He got nearly 270 wins in less than 285 matches. The boxer for Kyrgyzstan got multiple under-seventeen World titles, a bronze medal at the AIBA Youth World Championships, a gold medal at the World Combat Games, and wins in several Russian national amateur championships, and a lot of other prizes as well.

The only win out of his grasp was an entry to the senior World Championships and the Olympic Games as an amateur. He could not enter these tournaments because of the top-ranked Russian boxer Egor Mekhontsev. He also could not get a place at the Olympic Games held in London a decade ago. Thus, the boxer bid goodbye to his amateur boxing career and turned into a professional boxer a few years later. In the final round of his first match against Jorge Rodriguez Olivera, he won. He got his professional boxing career to a great start because of his extensive schooling in the sport. He managed to finish nearly all of his first ten matches within the distance. Dmitry said, "I always wanted to learn how to fight and protect myself. I watched many movies with Jackie Chan when I was a kid, and I always wanted to learn to fight like him. My father first took me to a training facility to do karate, but there were not many competitions there. Then my father took me to a boxing gym, where I fell in love with boxing. I am doing my best in the ring. I don't like to speak badly about my opponents.

I want my fans to like my boxing style and appreciate my work. I am trying to do everything for the fans. I love to watch fights with Sugar Ray Leonard before my fights. I learn from his fights. I also like to watch Gennady Golovkin, Vasyl Lomachenko, Terence Crawford, and Manny Pacquaio, but my favorite is Sugar Ray Leonard. He looks like a rabbit… but he's so dangerous. I want the fans to know that boxing has been my life since I was a child. I want the fans to know I am always trying to do my best. Maybe the best punch of my career. I like my right hand. It's very strong. I was 95 percent sure that the fight was over because it landed clean, and it felt like a strong punch. Everyone wants to see knockouts. Every boxer needs to think they're the best in the world. I hope that I can be the best pound-for-pound one day.'"

Bernard Hopkins Thinks Alvarez Will Win the Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol Match

One of the legends of the sport has said that Canelo Alvarez will comprehensively defeat his rival in the Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol match. Both the boxers are raring to go against one another for the WBA Super Light Heavyweight belt tomorrow. In an interview held recently, Bernard Hopkins said that the pound-for-pound champ Canelo Alvarez is going to have a great night against his upcoming rival. The legend also said that fans are really eager to see whether the boxer will be able to give another dominating and stellar performance to stay on top of the ladder of the sport. Dmitry has a significant advantage over his rival, whose frame is quite smaller than him. But Hopkins said that the physical superiority of Dmitry would only lead to an outcome if he was not going against a boxer with the talent and attributes of Canelo. Alvarez is one of the top stars in the sport at present. He has been a world titleholder in multiple divisions. This includes light heavyweight, middleweight, super welterweight, and super middleweight.

A victory over his rival in the Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol match would give the boxer a reputation as one of the most versatile title holders in the history of the sport. Bernard thinks that the unconquered middleweight titleholder Jermall Charlo could be the only boxer that can really challenge Canelo right now. Charlo and Canelo are both on the list of the world's top pound-for-pound boxers. They have been rumored to be going against each other for some years now. But the negotiations between both the parties have not yet led to any plans for a real match. Charlo is the present WBC Middleweight titleholder. The boxer will be putting his belt on the line when he goes against Maciej Sulecki in Houston, Texas. Bernard said, "He [Canelo] smashes him. Mash potatoes all over the place. Another smash event. I said it depends on what weight class, and I won't back off of it. To me, that's Canelo's biggest challenge so far, that fight [Charlo fight]. That fight is dangerous for Canelo from my perspective."
