In the Diego Pacheco vs. Raul Ortega super middleweights match, the current Mexican state champ Raul Ortega will go against the US native Diego Pacheco. The match will happen in Mexico on Friday, June 10. For the Diego Pacheco vs. Raul Ortega super middleweights match, Diego Pacheco comes after defeating Genc Pillana in a swift manner. Raul Ortega, who has been under the tutelage of Alex Vazquez and Juam Betancourt, comes after overcoming Carlos Torres. Raul Ortega and his team will take the flight to Mexico in the next few days. A few days ago, his coach had some great words about the boxer's preparation for the Diego Pacheco vs. Raul Ortega super middleweights match. The coach said, "We already have some time preparing for this great fight. Fortunately for this preparation, we had already started a week or two before this commitment fell on us." Raul Ortega said, "We are prepared and convinced that we will be victorious. I seek victory by way of knockout. I know that he is a very strong boxer who manages the distance very well and is very tall."

Pacheco said, "I'm taking fights that I know are going to help me in the long run. That I know are going to benefit my career and development. My goal is to fight the very best in the business. I know that I won't get there and I'm not gonna learn by fighting bums and guys who aren't going to give me a challenge. So, I'm looking to challenge myself a little bit. But, at the same time? Not to rush too much. I'm still 20 years old. I'm not near my full potential or my man strength. So, it's a balance, you know? Well, in the Riojas fight, I was on a knockout streak. And that guy was really tough. I hit him with crazy shots, and he took them all and kept coming forward. So, that showed me that not everyone is gonna get laid out in the first round. These guys are here to win as well."

'With Gomez, that's another guy who was a tough fighter to win. He believed that he could beat me. So, these guys are challenging me and pushing me to show what I have.'

Pacheco Career Before the Diego Pacheco vs. Raul Ortega Match

The boxer began training for the sport at ten and got over seventy fights and seven National championships in his amateur boxing career. When he started his professional boxing career, he was ranked the top amateur middleweight in Mexico and the United States. Four years ago, he signed with Matchroom Boxing of Eddie Hearn. After that, he had his first professional boxing match at the Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez Moreno, situated in Tijuana in Mexico. The match was against Luis Carlos Gonzalez. He won the match by knockout in the initial round itself. After that, he took part in more than six matches and won them. This included five wins by way of knockouts. After that, he was featured on the undercard of Anthony Joshua II vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He also knocked out his rival Selemani Saidi with a right hand in that match. His rival in the match was more experienced than him.

The boxer won against Oscar Riojas through a unanimous decision in the middle rounds. This was on the undercard of Jessie Vargas vs. Mikey Garcia at the Ford Center situated at the Star in Frisco, Texas. The boxer is quite well known among fans of the sport for his great sense of timing and reach. He has good power in both his hands. He is aiming to go for a world championship belt before the time he turns twenty-three. But he is also attempting to ensure that he does not do this too prematurely. For most of the fighters out there, both of these would not be possible to reconcile. But Pacheco is the younger prospect in the super middleweight division that is creating his case for the status of a complete contender. It does make sense for the fans. People in the media have also written prospect profiles on the boxer in the recent past. Recently, the boxer has won several boxing matches, and a couple of them have been by stoppage. This has been the story of his teenage years.

Recently, he has also taken on the undefeated Brazilian Lucas de Abreu. This was a part of the undercard of Sandor Martin vs. Mikey Garcia. The boxer has been training hard for the upcoming Diego Pacheco vs. Raul Ortega super middleweights match. He is still pondering his future in this weight division and the issues he needs to surpass to realize his potential as a professional boxer.

Pacheco said, "I have to be on my 'A game' against guys with that toughness. Just using my boxing! I feel like I'm an excellent boxer. Before the pros, I would win out-boxing everyone with my height and reach. I'm 6'4", have long arms, and fighting at the end of my punches has always been successful. At the beginning of my pro career, it just happened that I was knocking everyone out with the same style I was fighting. But, these recent opponents have been tougher. So, using my boxing skills and putting a boxing lesson on guys. Honestly, it's just me staying in the gym. After every fight, I would be back at the gym and into training. So, every time they offered a fight? I was just like, 'I'm ready! Let's do it!' So, that's where that activity came from. Matchroom presents me with these opportunities, and is ready to take them on. During the pandemic, things really slowed down. But, I feel like it helped me a bit, you know? Because when I was doing all of these fights, I really didn't have time to stop and think."

"When the pandemic happened and paused things a bit, I had time to think about my fights, see my mistakes, and really just work on the little things I couldn't work on while being in camp for all of these fights. Exactly! It's just sparring, maybe studying an opponent to figure out what I'm going to do against him. I don't even have time to get stronger or work on anything beyond that. Yeah, definitely. On the second Joshua-Ruiz fight, I was actually a swing bout. So, I was lucky enough to go right before Anthony Joshua. That was the first time I thought, "Damn, this stadium is super packed. It was crazy, but I handled it well. I got the knockout! After that fight, I remember talking to one of the guys from Matchroom UK. He was telling me about how Oscar De La Hoya and other great fighters like him started their career fighting on big stages. So, it was nothing new when they got to their big main event fights."
